Does a cluttered blog have you not returning? By cluttered I mean too many columns, small type, too many photos, difficult to follow, etc.ย

What I don’t really like is the massive amount of gifs people put in between their sentences. Sometimes I see six or seven in between paragraphs and it’s insanity. It puts me off of reading the post. I’m a minimalist type of blogger so I like everything simple, clean and easy to read. Sure graphics are pretty to look at but I actually like to read the content as well ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Reading in this ugly heat. I’m melting……

Today’s Question:

If you were stranded on a deserted island, which ONE book could you not live without?

Ahhhh this question is as difficult at the “What is your most favorite book”

So I’ll go with this one (which I have mentioned before)

One of the few books I will read and reread until the end of time and I will never get tired of it. If I can bring volumes 2 and 3 that would be great too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Life update: I know I have been slacking off on the posts and reading here. But I just started my new job last Thursday and I am LOVING IT! I’m trying to get a hold of my routine and schedule so I can fit in posting and reading until then I’ve been lurking and visiting pages so if you see me stalking, well that’s why ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a great friday all!

Today’s question:

For all of you worker bees out there! How do you balance having a day job/career and managing your blog at night? Is it hard or easy to do, and what do people in your work life think of your blogs?

This is going to be a doozy. First, I’ll be starting a new job on July 5th (more on that later!) so I will try to find the time to get some reading done. I plan to do so at night around bed time and hopefully when I come back from work. I’ll have to manage my posts somehow I”ll probably have to write them up on weekends and schedule them throughout the week. It’s going to be a challenge! but ….

So, now let’s talk about my job. I’m pleased to say I’m going to be working for a Publisher company that specializes in art books, children’s books, calendars, gifts etc! it’s the closest to the book industry as I can possibly get and I’m so excited and happy. I’m so ready to start this job!!! so my manager already knows I”m a bookish sort of person so I’m sure she won’t be surprised when she sees I’m going to be bring a book in during my lunch break ๐Ÿ˜‰

So! let me know what your answers are! happy reading and enjoy!

Today’s Question:

You have just won a $100.00 Visa gift card. Will you spend the entire amount on a rare collector’s edition you have always wanted, or buy several newly-published books? Explain your choice.

I would get several newly published and some old ones that have been published a few years back that have been on my list for a while. I prefer buying a whole bunch of books rather than spending it all on just one. Speaking of, I just bought about six books online as there was a sale. I love getting them via mail. It’s Christmas all over again!

Have a great reading weekend!!!

Unique Blogger Award!

Yes lovelies it’s that time again! I got tagged by Inkblottingsย ย (Thank you! and please visit! it’s a beautiful and great blog to read) for this lovely award and some questions I have to answer!

The Rules for this are:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you

  • Answer the questions

  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award

  • Ask them 3 questions

That being said I’ll just drop this image here:

Now I wouldn’t blog with a Mac per se (I’m part of the PC Master Race y’all) but that’s the closest that would come to me (sans the glam look, and add about 8 stacks of books all over the place)

Alas! let’s have some cookies here and read onto my answers:

If you had to take the place of one character in any book, who would it be?

–ย Lordy. Hard hard question darling. So let’s narrow things down a bit. Let’s go for taking the place of one character in any book I amย currently reading to make decision making easier ๐Ÿ™‚ So right now I’d love to be in Lea Saldana’s shoes. She’s from Assassin’s Heart by Sarah Ahiers. I just started the book but from what I’m reading she is so awesome. Plus we got this whole assassins theme going on and that naturally comes to mind my favorite Game Franchise of all Time:

Yup. I love Assassin’s Creed. This book is awesome so far and reminds me of the game.

You have the choice to excel at one specific skill โ€“ which skill do you choose?

–ย I’d have to go with supreme agility like a cat. I’m super clumsy and I at least yell out “ow” once a day because I bump into something at home. ๐Ÿ˜€

You get to sit down with one author and grill them on whatever youโ€™d like. Whoโ€™s the author?

– It’s a tie between Anne Rice or Stephen King. I think both are interesting creative individuals with a lot to say. I’d love to see and hear what they think ๐Ÿ™‚

Those are my answers!

I’ll leave this open for anyone who is willing to participate, but the following are my questions:

  1. You’re being chased by a masked madman which character’s name from a book do you scream out to save you and why?
  2. You like board games like me? if so what would you recommend? (Looking for some to play!)
  3. Do you collect anything besides books? if so what? I’d love to know and if you have pictures even better ๐Ÿ™‚

There we go! I hope you enjoyed and I hope you participate! please let me know if you answered so I can take a peek and read your blog and answers ๐Ÿ™‚

Today’s question:

Is there a fictitious town in a book that you would love to live in? What makes it appealing?

Besides Hogwarts? I would love to live in the Shadowrun World. What’s Shadowrun? it’s a tabletop RPG that also has novels based on it. Their world is dark, gritty and there’s lots of cyberpunk influences, cities all filled up with lights but it’s dark at the same time (these gifs are from Blade Runner, but it’s similar to the world of Shadowrun):

Complete with flying cars and electronic billboards with massive advertisements. Maybe it’s because I have a great love for Synthwave music, and cyberpunk themes but this is one world I would love to live in.

How about you guys?!! let me know so we can discuss! have a great reading weekend!

Do you overextend yourself with too many reviews because you can’t pass up a book in hopes you will get them all done or do you carefully plan and be sure you can fulfill the deadlines for all the promised reviews?

I’m OCD this way…I carefully plan them. If there’s a deadline, that book gets moved up first. Otherwise I read at my leisure and schedule my reviews on certain days. If I run out of reviews to post. I don’t sweat it anymore. I used to and then I constantly felt pressured to post something. Now, I’m more laid back and post as much as I can. If nothing is posted I don’t sweat it anymore. I want my book blogging to be a pleasure, not a chore. ๐Ÿ™‚

You all have a great Reading Weekend! husband will be at work so I’ll have more time to read (unless the gods of sleep decide to stop me)

Have a great day!
