Monday Combo 10/12

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian bookworms out there! have a good one! here’s Monday’s memes for this week:

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about books on your top book lists…

This past week, Borders re-released it’s  100 Favourite Books of All Times. Do you vote in these kinds of polls when they arise? Do you look through the list, or seek out books featured?

– I personally don’t vote in these kinds of polls as it’s hard to choose. I do however look through the entire list to see if there’s anything that might catch my eye and add to my never ending book piles. 🙂 Although most of the books on those kinds of lists are contemporary fiction that I don’t even catch a second glance. Sometimes it surprises me and I do happen to like a gem or two from that list.

In my Mailbox:

The Road Out of Hell – Anthony Flacco & Jerry Clark (contest win)

Level 26: Dark Origins – Anthony Zuiker (contest win)

New World Monkeys – Nancy Mauro (contest win)

Prodigal Sons – Sheldon Greene (Bostick)

The Recipe Club – Andrea Israel & Nancy Garfinkel (FSB)

(I got lucky these past few weeks in regards to contests) 🙂

Library Finds

Mr Darcy Takes a Wife – Linda Berdoll

The Magicians – Lev Grossman

The Courtesan – Susan Carroll

Night Shift – Lilith Saintcrow

Hunter’s Prayer – Lilith Saintcrow

The Devil You Know – Mike Carey

Quite a lot at the library this time! so what’s everybody elses answers? 🙂

  1. I can’t vote on those kind of polls either, because of that exact same reason lol 😀 There are just too many!

Wow! Congrats to you on all those wins! Happy reading to you.
