Library Finds

with 8 comments

Here I am again with my library finds of the week. As I said before my blog is too “young” to get any books in my mailbox (although I am expecting three ARCS!) so I decided to go the library to see what I can find to amuse myself there. I went yesterday instead of today as I start my bellydancing class πŸ™‚ this is what I got for this week:

Rebel Angels – Libba Bray (Have to find out what The Order is!)

Blue Bloods – Melissa De La Cruz (Part of my YA Challenge)

The Cleaner – Brett Battles (Read a review of one of his other books, might as well start with the first book)

The 6th Lamentation – William Broderick (I feel like a WWII novel)

The Eagle of the Ninth – Rosemary Sutcliff (Found this thanks to Read Em Yet Wednesday)

Emperor: Time’s Tapestry #1 – Stephen Baxter (was on shelf, decided to grab it, looked interesting)

There are my finds! if you have found anything interesting at your library and feel like sharing, post on your blog and leave a comment or, leave a comment and let me and everyone else know!

  1. HI!! i get what ur saying about the “young” thing. I just started mine 4 the summer. I go 2 the library a lot when i want 2 get sum books.I got some cool advice from other blogs(the Story Siren). http://www.thestorysiren.com/

Blue Blues was good, but there is a little bit of romance, just a little.

as 4 the Rebel Angels that is the 2nd book of the Gemma Doyle series,
A Great and Terrible Beauty is the 1st one. so it’s:
    -A Great and Terrible Beauty
    -Rebel Angels
    -The Sweet Far Thing
i plan to read them but they keep getting BIGGER.

If u like Libba Bray’s writing u should read her new book Going Bovine, comes out in Sept. 22 2009.

    happy reading!!

  2. I’ve been wanting to read Eagle of the Ninth for years and simply keep putting it off. I’d love to read what you have to say about Sutcliff’s classic

  3. I enjoyed Rebel Angels… I have yet to grab the third (and final) book in the series. Beastly and Evermore are still in my pile waiting to be read. Also, I volunteer at a Senior Center and they get lots of books that people donate (they sell each book for a quarter) and so I got a few book there this past week.

Which ARC’s are you waiting for?

  4. Looking forward to hearing what you thing about The Cleaner. I like Brett Battles, and don’t think I’ve ever read about anyone with that particular job before. Enjoy! *L*

  5. Looks like a great list. The only Libba Bray book I read was A great and Terrible Beauty, which I enjoyed. Enjoy your books.

    How was the bellydancing class?

    • Bellydancing was brutal, but it was a great workout πŸ˜€ the shower at the end was better though

  6. I have The Cleaner on my desk as well. I was lucky enough to be sent an ARC of Shadow of Betrayal, and I really enjoyed it. I usually go back and read the first in the series before I continue on, in fear of being lost, but I didn’t realize it was #3 until I was already sucked into the story and couldn’t stop. Besides, I was anxious to get the review up. I’m looking forward to reading your review on the Cleaner!
