Japanese Literature Challenge (DONE)
At first I wasn’t going to do it. Then it kept calling out to me. I saw so many badges about it. Then I figured..yeeeeaaahhhh I’ll do it..but maybe not. Then..THEN I had THE CONVERSATION:
Me: Hey you know what? there’s a Japanese Literature challenge and they got some really nice prizes and I want to read other types of books -
Nerdy boyfriend: But you don’t read Japanese literature.
I pause. Then I continue: Yeah but I get to try something new.
Nerdy Boyfriend: But you don’t Japanese Literature.
Me: You know what????!!!!!!! I just wanted to try something new!!!! I look at the prizes and there’s books by Murakami as a prize and I was thinking if I won that I could give it to you BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? NEVERMIND!
After my hissy fit I leave and now am ever MORE DETERMINED to join this challenge! SO THERE!
My choice for this Japanese Literature Challenge:
All She Was Worth by Miyuki Miyabe
Others that may make it to my list if I get a chance to read them:
Grotesque – Natsuo Kirino
Out – Natsuo Kirino
Crossfire – Miyuki Miyabe Review Here
Shadow Family – Miyuki Miyabe
The Devil’s Whisper – Miyuki Miyabe
That’s it for now. Odd. The list got bigger than it did last time.
I hope I can get around to these as they do look interesting. Anyway take that nerdy boyfriend!!! I can too read Japanese Literature!!!pththth!
NOTE: I found out All She was Worth was not at my library and it would have had to be taken out through interlibrary loan, which would have taken a while. So I jumped the gun and changed my choice to Crossfire instead.

I enjoyed All She Was Worth by Miyabe. I read it last year for the challenge myself. Welcome to this year’s, and i’m glad that you had a ‘hissy fit’ and decided to join. I think you’ll be glad that you did.

I am currently reading All She Was Worth and enjoying it so far. I read Out last year and although it was extremely dark I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to reading your reviews.
